IT IS A CONDITION OF ENTERING ANY CLUB COMPETITION THAT SUBMITTED IMAGES MAY BE USED BY THE CLUB FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSE.

ALL PRINTS AND IMAGES ARE SUBMITTED AT THE PHOTOGRAPHER`S OWN RISK.
ALTHOUGH ALL REASONABLE CARE WILL BE TAKEN, THE FODCC AND MEMBERS CANNOT ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE OCCURRING TO ANY ENTRIES, WHETHER IN TRANSIT, WHILST IN THE KEEPING OF MEMBERS OR DURING ANY EXHIBITION.
SUBMISSION OF AN ENTRY IMPLIES ACCEPTANCE OF THE ABOVE REGULATIONS.

** PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CLUBS INSURANCE DOES NOT EXTEND TO MEMBERS` PRINTS OR IMAGES. **

There are 2 classes of membership: Intermediate and Advanced

New Members wishing to enter the Advanced section must first have their work assessed by the committee.
An advanced worker cannot enter work into the Intermediate Section unless agreed by the committee.

Intermediate members who progress to the top third of the final year listings will be moved to the Advanced class

Club competitions for members are held during the club season at approximately monthly intervals
(see Club Programme).

Each competition will generally* have 3 categories: * Some Competitions may be Print (Colour/Mono) and DI.

All images are entered into a competition irrespective of the authors club class.
This means that the judge will give all images the benefit of his opinion based on the same criteria however, as the authors class is already known, scores can be separated into Advanced and Intermediate at the end of each competition.

Members may submit up to two entries for each category.
Should the entry level be high the Competition Secretary reserves the right to reduce the number of entries.

Titles of the images should be restricted to 50 characters.

A piece of work can only be entered into one monthly competition however, monthly competition images can be entered in the annual Photograph of The Year competition (see Rules For Photograph of the Year below)

Entries are to be submitted by the published date unless agreed by the Competition Secretary.

N.B. Any work entered into FODCC competitions must be entirely the members own work/image(s).

The Club now has the facility for members to upload their DI's via the Members Area of our website.
When you first join the club you will be given a unique ID number which will give you access to this Members Area.

All Digital Images need to be uploaded via the club website within 48 hours of the date shown on the club programme
Images should be:

Once an image has been uploaded it is assigned a unique random number. It is recommended that you write this number on the label of your Print entries to help us identify and organise your submissions.

Prints should be mounted on a suitable mount board.
The maximum size of a print entry, including mount, is 20 inches by 16 inches (40 x 50 cm).

All print entries have a completed competition label on the back (supplied by the club) with entry name and member initials as other club entries (i.e. panel_MEM)

A digital image of your print should also be uploaded via our website see Uploading DI's above

Care should be taken when affixing an image or backing board. Poorly applied adhesive can damage other members prints.

Judges will mark all images entered into the monthly club competitions out of a maximum 20 points (1-20), where aggregate scores will be accumulated towards the annual awards.
Please remember that all judging is subjective. Whilst we may not personally agree, we are all required to respect the judges` comments and accept their decisions.

Trophies are awarded to the club member with the highest accumulated score in each section at the end of season. Other Trophies are awarded to best overall images and for services to the club or community. See Annual Awards

As General rules with additional:

Open competitions mean there are no restrictions as to the theme of the image

As General Rules with additional:

At the club`s annual general meeting (AGM) members will vote to decide the number of open or themed competition rounds to take place during the next season.
If the members decide to host themed rounds, the theme shall also be voted on and selected during the AGM. The committee shall then provide a definition for members to use as a reference for these themed rounds.

The themes are not too restrictive and although open to the individual's interpretation, entries must have some element of the theme evident.

As General Rules with additional:

The Panels Competition winner will be awarded a trophy *
A panel shall consist of between 3 and 5 images linked by a recognizable theme of the author`s own choice.
No more than two of these images may have been used in previous FODCC Competitions.
Different versions of the "same image" may be used.

There are just 2 categories of Panels: DI and Print. Members may enter up to 2 Panels either in one or both categories.

Panel prints will normally be individual prints. The first print must have a diagram on the reverse showing the desired layout of the panel.
It will be for the member to lay out the prints in the desired order for judging.
Alternatively an entry may have all images on one mount provided that the mount size does not exceed 40cm x 50cm.

DI panels should be entered and uploaded as, first, a montage image showing the layout of the panel, followed by each individual panel image.
See Uploading DI's (above)
